Cyberattack
A cyberattack can result in utility loss, downed methods of transportation, a loss of outside resources, and compromised personal information, including financial records. Take steps to protect your digital profile and resources, while stockpiling essential resources.
Cyberattack Stockpiles Should Include:
The Basics
Refer to the Basic Stockpile List, including all items for Sheltering-In-Place.
Take special note of the following items: Cash, cryptowallet, backup charging devices, generators, portable/backup hard drive
Surge Protectors
For protecting electrical appliances when power is restored after a grid shutdown.
Password Manager
A password manager--such as iOS's Keychain, or 1password--should be used to secure your login information against a possible cyberattack, hack, or malware. Enable two-factor-authentication whenever possible.
Computer Protection
Make sure you are using an encrypted internet connection. Purchase and/or enable virus protection, malware/ransomware protection, and firewalls. Make sure your router is set to Wi-Fi Protected Access 2 (WPA2) Advanced Encryption Standard (AES). Make sure your operating systems are up to date.
Credit Monitoring
Consider signing up for credit monitoring services to make sure that your identity and finances are not compromised.
